Course Pricing

You are wanting to find out the cost of our training courses.?

We are not like other training providers. We do not operate a revolving door system of trying to get as many in through the door as possible in order to make the most money in the shortest possible time. A one size fits all pricing structure is profoundly unfair. So what we charge you for our experts to train you, depends on a number of things.

    • Whether the course is certified by a recognised awarding body or is contractor specific
    • The experience of the learner or group that may be wanting to take a course
    • Whether a single individual, or group of individuals clubbing together or a company is sending several learners to us all at one time
    • How long the course is for
Whether the course is certified by a recognised awarding body or is contractor subject specific
If learners want to take part in training which provides an industry recognised qualification.

These types of courses tend to be more expensive.  Simply because there are usually additional certification, registration and examination fees, that a certificate awarding body charges us. So, we have to pass this on to you the learner.

We are accredited to provide City and Guilds certification and the Smart Awards network operators certification.

City and guilds courses are the most expensive, and the most difficult for you the learner to achieve. Because there is a rigid inflexible curriculum that has to be followed. Several theory tests must be passed, along with inflexible practical assessments, and each of these incurs a fee that city and guilds charge.

To keep this cost down we have now been approved to deliver accredited Network Operators qualifications provided by the Smart Awards.

Smart awards allow us to deliver only the theory and practical training that the industry says it needs. And is recognised by Eircom, BT, SIRO, Virgin Media, Knns, Actavo, Morrisons along with every other network operator and the 400 contractors that work in the Industry.

The training meets the needs of the industry and the fees charged are much less expensive making the courses more cost effective to the learners.

Contractor specific courses are usually much shorter, because contractors usually want us to teach their staff to do one job. For example they may want to teach their new employees how to install fibre into homes or businesses and no more.  Because they are shorter and a contractor can guarantee a number of learners.  Then economies of scale can be provided.

Or alternatively they may be electricians that may only have to terminate fibre optic cabling with very low fibre counts in limited circumstances.  So we can quickly teach them how to complete these common work tasks proficiently in a cost effective way for the contractor.

The experience of the learner or group that may be wanting to take a course

Some individuals have been working in the industry for a long time.  They have been taught everything they know on a monkey see, monkey do basis. Though they carry out the work tasks very well.   They do not have any formal qualifications and now need to get them.

Because of the existing experience these individuals can be taught an awful lot quicker.  Because of this we can offer vastly reduced rates for those already experienced within the industry.

Whether a single individual, or group of individuals clubbing together or a company is sending several learners to us all at one time

For us to be able to run a course it has to be viable.  We have overhead costs, rent, insurance, equipment to buy and kept maintained consumables to get in stock.  If groups of individuals or a company can send a number of individuals on a course, we can provide a discount because of economies of scale.

The more they send the cheaper the course becomes.

How long the course is for

Some types of training courses we provide take a long time over several weeks and sometimes months. It stands to reason that the costs associated with providing these longer course are greater. Rent for the training locations, materials, equipment costs way more.

So it stands to reason that short courses will always cost less for us to deliver and we pass those savings along to the learners.

FAQ's

Here are detailed a few common questions that we get asked. Its not exhaustive, but it should give you the basic answers.  If you have any questions please contact us by email or phone and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Some of the course theory is delivered remotely by the trainer using microsoft teams or zoom.

A clear set of instructions will be provided to you when you have purchased your course

All learners must have a good command of the English language.

Learners MUST NOT BE COLOUR BLIND.

If learners are in doubt it is recommended that you seek out a colour blindness test with a recognised medical professional.

Yes you can. As long as you have the ability to complete what is needed and they do not clash.

Most of our courses have a high level of practical hands on content.  This means you have to come to our training centre.  You must ensure that course dates for attendance do not clash

A course can only be booked if at least 50% of the course is paid for in full and up front.

A learner may pay in instalments up front.  But all courses must be paid for in full on the first day of training.

Learners have to understand something.  We have only so many places on a course.  Once a course place is paid for over a particular date.  Then we can not allocate that place to anyone else.  Pretty much like an airline, you book a seat. if you do not take that seat on that particular time and date without giving enough notice you can not fly so they can resell the seat.  Then the airline will not refund your money.

We are in a similar position with training.  You are paying for a place on a course, if you do not reschedule in good time giving us an opportunity to sell that place you paid for to another learner.  Then we will not be able to provide a refund.  if you are unable to attend a course you MUST!!  Give us adequate warning.
